"Ya, it'll be okay. We'll be fine. I'll jump first. Ready?" I nodded and watched Heather and Aristocrat fly over the log. I tensed up, knowing that it was my turn. "Carmel? You can go now!" Heather sounded nervous; I took a deep breath and led to the log. Memory and I readied for the log. We went over the log smoothly, landing quietly. I let out a deep sigh though Memory tensed up even more. I looked around to see what was bothering her. Then I saw it. A snake. Easily six feet. Coming towards us. Both Memory and I hated snakes. I let out a terrible scream and pointed towards the snake. Heather! Snake!

Carmel screamed. Just as I wasabout to ask why, she screamed. Heather!Snake! I looked at where she was pointing. I saw the snake, easily 6 feet long. I screamed at Carmel. Come on! We've gotta get out of here! I took off, only hoping Carmel was following.

"Come on! We've gotta get out of here!" Heather took off. I stayed, frozen by fear. The snake locked eyes with me and Memory stepsided, she was nervous. I took a deep breath and turned Memory around. I heard a strange hissing sound and turned around in time to see the snake rise up and strike my arm. White hot pain flashed across my arm. Without thinking, I heeled Memory into a gallop; blood covering my arm. Heather! I cried weakly.

Heather! I heard Carmel faintly call. She sounded hurt. I pulled Aristocrat to a sliding stop, then whipped around, with moves worthy or a pro barrel horse. We trotted back down the trail in case Memory and Carmel were galloping down. I found Memory galloping like I expected, but there was something I didn't expect...Carmel had blood running down her arm. OMG! Carmel! Are you okay? I shouted as she and Memory galloped past. Then not even 100 yards down the trail at the log we just jumped, the snake's red, blood-shot eyes locked with mine and began to slid forward. I spun Aristocrat around and heeled him into a full out gallop. We quickly caught up to Carmel. By this time, we were already by the entrance to the trail. There was two 7th grade girls getting ready to ride the trail. Don't ride there! Carmel got bit and there's a snake like 6 feet long! They looked at me then Carmel, and seeing how terrified we were and Carmel's bleeding arm they tured and rode to the arena instead. We galloped up to the stable and straight past it. I tugged Memory's reins, trying to get him to slow down. After I almost fell on the hard dirt off Aristocrat, I finally was able to slow the horses. I jumped off Aristocrat and tied him to the hitching post. I then helped Carmel down, and when I looked into her eyes, I was surprise that she stayed on Memory. Then I looked around for someone to take the horse and cool them down. I needed to get Carmel to the infirmary, and fast.
OCC: It's fine, mine's no better. At least we haven't described the extent of the bite yet. LOL

A lot of events passed through my eyes, though I payed no attention. The only thing that I concentrated on was the steady gallop of Memory's stride and the two fang marks in my arm, throbbing painfully. SO when I felt Memory slow to a stop, I looked up to see Heather. I tried to speak only to fined out I had lost my voice. Probably from screaming. I faintly remember screaming on the way back. Heather helped me off; I swayed a little. The bite in my arm had turned a nasty green. I felt bile rise in my throat. I swallowed hard, forcing it down. I was not going to sick.

Occ- srry such a bad post.
Carmel looked like she was going to get sick. I squeezed my eyes together and tried to breath out my mouth only. I linked arms with Carmel. Her good arm of course! I gently tugged her toward the nurses office. Even though it wasn't right there, I headed in that general direction.

What happened? the nurse whispered to me. Well, we decided to go trail riding today and from the begining we had problems. First our horses started acting up, then we got lost. My horse spooked which in turn her's spooked and my horse galloped awy and jumed a log. Carmel followed and when we had calmed ddowna little bit we jumped the log again. Then a huge snake, like litterally six feet long, came toward us. My horse bolted and Carmel, frozen in fear, looked straight at the snake. Because she did this, the snake bit her. I paused and held up her arm. The nurse gaped. I continued talking. Then her horse Whisper took off and bolted up to me and I grabbed her reins and slowly was able to slow her down whil trying to control my own horse, her horse,a dn not fall. I don't know where our horses are right now so as soon as she taken in I'm going back to properly cool them and and put them away. I looked at the nurse. She seemed stunned. Okay! Let's get you in here, and get you fixed up I followed her into the office. She sat Carmel on a bed and asked me for her name and dorm moniter. Uhh, Carmela Vigil, and she's in Orchard. The nurse thanked me and then asked me the same thing. I'm Heather Fox and i'm also in Orchard. The nurse thanked me again and told me to come back tomorrow at 9 in the morining. I walked over to Carmel. Kay. Carmel? You ar egoing to stay in the infimiary until I get back from the stable. I'm going to take care of Meamory for you okay? Carmel absent-mindedly. i smiled at the nurse and jogged back to the stable.

I saw Heather walk away. Bye Bye! I yelled to her. The nurse wrapped up my arm and had me drink some nasty medicine. She said it was to make me sleep so she could fix up my arm. Instantly I felt drowsy and so I laid down and fell asleep.

Bye Bye! I heard Carmel yell as I walked out of the nurses office. I jogged back to the stable to find Aristocrat and Memory still where I had left them. I brought them to my stall and untacked Memory then Aristocrat. The horses were very sweaty so I walked them to the wash racks. After I tied them up, I rinsed each one off, scrubbing the sweat out of their coat. I walked them around so they could dry and stretch after not being cooled down properly. As I walked by the trails, I shuddered at what happened just hours before. I finally led Memory to her stall and got her fresh water, hay and put a blanket on her. I gave her a pat and said to her, Alright girl. Carmel won't be able to ride for a while so I'll probably ride you. See you tomorrow. She nudged my shoulder as I turned and I gave her a hug. Quickly I put Aristocrat into his stall and gave him fresh essentials. I decided that I couldn't wait any longer. I needed to talk to Mr. Conner.
I knocked on his door when I arrived at his office. Come in. He called. I quickly opened the door and sat down. Mr. Conner, I need to tell you something. He looked at me and shrugged as a invitation to go on. I explained what happened on the trails and in 20 minutes, we were in the nurses office once more.

Once I woke up, it seemed like hours later. The sun had set the nurse's office was in moonlight. Ah! I jumped when I realized their was someone leaning over me. It seemed like they had antlers. I blinked and the figure turned into Mr. Conner. Urgh guess the meds was still making me crazy. Hey there I muttered.
