Still continued to laugh, covering up my mouth in a way to try to muffle the sounds of my giggles. Thanks why I love you Sierra. I said, the laughter slowly going away, leaving me with a huge grin and a sore stomach.

My laughter died down as hers did, and the guilt laying deep in the pits of my stomache swelled. Why had I avoided my friends? Becuase I was being stupid. I gave her a sad smile before saying, "I love you too, Carmela. You're like my sister. That's why I think you deserve to know why I wasn't really... around at all..." I thought of how I should start with my explanation, before I decided. "Have you ever had the displeasure to have your boyfriend cheat on you?" I asked her, my voice quiet and slightly wavering. At first I stared at her, comepetely shell-shocked. I never actually expected her to answer she had (I me, c'mon! She's awesome!) been cheated on, much less with Rosie, but what made me dissapointed was I missed out on comforting her. "Uhg, this is why I feel so guilty! I was being to selfish avoiding everyone to notice all the trouble everyone else was expiriancing! Corey, he cheated on me with a cheerleader. Now I don't mean the decent ones I mean one of the selfish full-of-herself cheerleaders. Corey blamed m-me of cheating when the b-brithish g-guy Ian told me h-he cheated on me. A-and when I blieved him I r-ran out and met up with Lola and Rosie. A-and when I ran back to my dorm and tried to get r-ready for a t-trail r-ride I had with R-Rosie and L-Lola I got a text w-with a picture of h-him k-k-kissing another g-girl!" I explained, my oice getting shakey. "All I could think after that is that w-was I n-not g-g-g-good enough for him o-or s-somthing? And then I got a-all mopey about it a-and kinda blamed m-myself about it th-thinking it was all m-me even when I k-knew it wasn't! Then I-I just st-st-started avoiding everyone c-cause I was af-afraid of s-seeing h-him... " Tears freely streemed down my face. I felt ashamed that I broke apart like tis in front of Carmel. The lump in my throat expanded and a few shocked tears spilled over onto my cheeks. For once, the tears weren't for me; they were for Sierra. She had been going through exactly what I was going through... except about hundred times worse. Plus the poor girl blamed herself for the entire thing. Oh God Sierra. I whispered to her, pulling her closer to me in a hug. Shh, its okay. I whispered in her hair, not really sure how else to comfort her. I was upset at myself also, for not helping her in the first place.

I quickly returned the hug Carmela offered me, just needing the comfort for the time being. I sniffled as I let go and wiped my nose with my sleeve. A weak smile was thrown my friend's- no, basically sister's way as I hiccuped. The giggle I let out was watery and I suddenly felt embarressed. Why did I break down? Probablt because I've been leaving all these emotions inside of me.

I cracked a smile at what she said. Only Sierra could only find humor in this entire situation. Actually you are taking it pretty well. I said, smiling softly back to her. At least you haven't started swearing at the top of your lungs or started throwing all of the books off of the shelves. I suggested with a bigger grin this time.

I gave her a guenuine laugh, glad to know that it wasn't watery and shakey. Sometimes I wonder what I deserved to have such good friends. I might have a lot of friends, but only a few were like Carmel; instead of comforting me, she cracked jokes to make me smile. It was comfort, but not the cheesey 'everything is going to be okay' stuff. It annoyed me when that's all people had to say. So just to lighten the mood even more, I took the liberty of joking back.
"No, no, I could do worse. I could be screeching off the top of my lungs and knocking the the actually book shelves down," I joked, getting a mental image of my doing just that.
