I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I found myself craving a little peace, so I walked to the stable. There was always a few paddocks empty, and what better company than horses? I found my horse, Duchess' paddock, and sat on the cool green grass. It was a beautiful time of year, and with the sun just setting, the perfect picture was complete. Duchess wandered over and I patted her, telling her about my day. It was kind of our ritual, our ritual...I stopped my self suddenly. My last sentence to her had been, "And the new, guy Chris..." I gulped. I kind of hoped we would meet again. Alone, this time...

I smiled as I saw Kayla. "Hey Kayla!" I exclaimed as I walked over to her. I had changed out of my nicer clothes and switch to faded jeans, paddock boots, and a Green Day concert t-shirt. I whistled for Angel and a few seconds later the pretty dapple grey trotted over to fence. I gave her a sugar cube and patted her neck. "Hey pretty girl." I said.

Can he read my mind or something? I grinned at the thought. It would be pretty cool if he could. Or if I could read his, then I would know if he liked me... Whoa, Kayla. Don't get ahead of yourself. The tiny voice in my head helped me find my voice. "Hey, Chris." I saw him feed a sugar cube to his mare, and came to stand next to him. "She's gorgeous."
