I laugh musically at Harley's dance, loosening Midnight's reins so that he can show off his happy dance. Instead, he nudges Harley playfully, and I grin. These two need a playdate in the field stat!

I grin. "I know, like now!" I giggle as Harley snorts and nudges Midnight back. It was obvious the 2 wanted to play badly.

I smile, taking my feet out of the stirrups and dismounting gracefully. I loosen Midnight's gurth and gather his reins in my hands. Meet me at the field in twenty? I suggest as Middie and I head for the door.

I nod. "Def." I walk Harley down the hill and back to the barn. I give him a quick spongedown and rigorus curry. I change out is bridle for my favorite baby blue Halter with Harley Davidson embroidered on the front. I got out his fly sheet and mask, but I decided to wait until the playdate was calmed down. That way there would be no ripping or tearing. I checked my watch. I was a few minutes early, so I combed through his mane and tail. I clipped on the matching leadline and walked to Harley and Midnight's feild, The 2 horses were lucky. Not only did they have a big paddock all to themselves, they had trees and a shelter in there. I tood by the gate and waited for Sam.

I bring Midnight to his beyond-comfy stall and untack, putting away his shiny new saddle and bridle. I grab one of our fave halters, a pale pink one with "MIDNIGHT" embroidered into the the nosepiece. I slip it on after giving him a thorough grooming, combing his mane and tail to glistening perfection and picking and cleaning his hooves. I look him over, and he looks beyond perfect. I grab a bright green lead line, his pale pink fly mask with silver gem lining (to match his halter) and his forest green cooler. After clipping on the lead line and placing the cooler and fly mask into my special saddle bag (for when the initial energy was let out), I headed to Midnight and Harley's field, right on time. I smile at Vi and Harley.

I smile when I see Sam and Midnight. Harley sees Midnight and lets out a long whinnie, his entire body shaking with excitement. I was very glad now I was waiting to put his fly sheet on. Harley pounded the ground with one hoof, eager to get inside the field. I unlink the never rusty chain, and pull Harley into the lush green field. I turn him around to the fence so I don't get accidentely kicked. I gently undo his halter, reminding myself to put it on after the fun. As soon as I slip the halter off, Harley turns and thunders down the little hill, bucking and crow hopping, then gallops back up to the gate where Sammie is turning Midnight out.

I smile at Harley's excitement. I keep Midnight calm, but I can tell that he's excited. I slide his halter off, hanging the saddle bag on a fence post. He waits patiently for me to tell him to go, and when I do, he charges into the field, his hooves making clouds of dust behind him. I smile at Vi as she latches the gate shut, and I climb onto the second bar, watching as the horses play. I study Midnight, and I'm proud of how healthy my ex-racehorse is looking. He moves with ease and strength, and he thunders through the field as if he's on camera. Sample:

The two horses buck and play, and I admire both their physical condition. Harley, coming from a slaughterhouse, still had visible scars that would always be visible. But here, now, all you could was that he was a happy horse having fun with his feildmate. I grinned, resting my chin on my hands.

I laugh when Midnight prances poshly away from Harley. At least Middie knows how to lose politely. I say, grinning.

I stick my tounge out playfully. Sammie was right though. Harley was till bucking and playing long after Midnight stopped. Eventually, he calmed to a stop, and grazed beside Middie. I hop the fence with ease, and put on his baby blue fly sheet and mask.

I do the same as Violet, giving Midnight a soft pat and kiss before smiling and linking arms with Violet.

As we walk out of the paddock, I turn back to see Harley one more time trotting over under the tree to graze, midnight following him. I turned to Sam. "Dont you just love Horses?" I say, my eyes full of admiration.

I grin. More than anything. I say, looking back at Midnight, who's looking protectively at me as I walk away. I laugh.

"So, I have a TON of homework to do" I say, groaning. Just thinking about the piles of books back in my room made me sigh.
