I swung into Whispering Willows or Willows my 6 year old black arabian mare's bright and sleek new saddle and settled myself into the saddle then clicked my tongue for Willow to go forwards after a few minutes I asked her for a collected trot then a canter then we glided around the ring in a graceful dancing motion my strawberry blonde hair fell lightly and gently over my shoulders from my thick black Ovations helmet and I smiled as I angled Willow to canter through the centre of the ring.

I smiled as I felt Willow switch from the wrong lead after turning to the right lead and I rose easily and gently with the motion of her canter and I patted her shoulder and eased her to a trot then I asked her to do a piaffe we flew around the ring in a fluid motion and I looked up as I heard someone clapping I hadn't known anyone was watching me.

I had been in the stable and had heard someone in the indoor arena. I had gone over and started watching. After a while i had seen how this girl was doing a good job. I started to clap," whoa nice job." i yell

I looked up at Bella the girl I met in the stables earlier. I smiled an said, "Hey Bella and Thanks! i've working on that piaffe for weeks and i'm sooo glad Willow picked up the correct lead on the canter after we turned" I smiled and patted Willow's shoulder and clicked tongue to keep her from walking. I whispered, "No slowing down girly we have work to do"

"im trying out for the advanced team in a couple days. So what do you need any help in?" i wonder

I wish I could be on the advanced team! and I need some help on keep her from slowing down when we go to jump she always slows down just as we get to the jump" I looked at Willow as she looked at me with her ears perked I smiled and said, "Yes we're talking about you pretty girl"

I nodded and said, "Ok thanks for helping me out" I smiled and urged Willow into a canter and we circled around the ring once before I angled her towards the jump and as I rose into two point Willow slowed down to a trot and trotted over the jump. I sighed and said, "Willow! we're supposed to canter over it not trot it!"

"Its ok, so what i saw is that right before you go to the jump she slows down and i saw that you let her. So when your about to go over the jump squeeze with you outside leg a little and keep her into that canter. So try that once and see what happens." i explain

I looked up at her nodded and said, "Oh of course! ugh! I keep doing that kind of thing subconsciously it's a horrible habit of mine" I clicked my tongue and as Willow for a canter and we circled the ring before going after the jump again I rose into two point and applied pressure with my left leg and Willow surged over the jump easily and gracefully.

I clapped as she went over the jump. "Nice job! See i knew you could do it. Is there anything else you want help with?" I answer

I walked into the arena. I had Cajun by my side. This would be like the first time I'd practiced since YENT tryouts. Or since I'd made the YENT team. I smiled, settling my left foot in the stirrup and swinging over. Tapping Cajun gently with the heel he started walking. I smiled when I saw to other girls. I headed towards the jumps. Today they were all normal rails and one double oxer.
I smiled. Easy. I glid Cajun into a canter and approached the jump. 3...2...1... NOW. We soared over about two more, knocked another, and then flew over the double oxer. I couldn't help my grin. Only one out of five down.. Not big penalties. Well, if this was a show.
But it wasn't.

I looked up at Bella and said, "So..how was that? Did she rush it felt really quick" I looked around as I heard hoofbeats and blinked as a girl lead her horse into the ring and started jumping. I blinked and watched her jump before calling out to her "Wow! that was really good!"

"no it wasnt rushed. It felt that way because you are used to having her break and go over the jumps at a trot not a canter." i looked in the direction Skyla was looking at. It was Rose jumping. She did look good no wonder she made the YENT.
