A musty smell filled Cara's noise as she walked down the long aisles of books. Her head was pounding and her stomach swirled, she felt as thought she would topple over in a pile of clothing. She had felt sick like this all day and had been wanting to sit down and read. She skimmed her fingers over the book spines until she found one that sparked her interest. It was a bright red book, but she couldn't read the name since her eyes were blurring so badly. Cara clutched the book and spun around, fast enough that she bumped into someone. The small jolt was enough to make her fall, hard. The carpet wasn't as soft as it looked and left Cara's butt sore. She glanced up, dark circles dancing around her vision, at the person standing above her.

Bethanie had been sitting in a dark corner of the library for almost three hours now. Her never-ending pile of homework was somewhat smaller, but she had a dull ache behind her eyes from staring at her textbooks for way too long. Now that she thought about it, she was super hungry too. But she had so much more work to do... The sensible voice in her head told her that she needed a snack, and a drink, or else her brain would be totally fried. She sighed, gathering her books off the beautiful old oak desk.
As she stood up the blood rushed to her hair, making her dizzy. Clutching the table, she swayed precariously until the bright spots in front of her eyes faded. She felt weak and breathless - she definitely needed to eat something. Shoving a messy pile of binders and paper into her bag, she hurried down an aisle of books, back towards the exit. The rows of books spun around her, and she shut her eyes for a second, trying to focus. A split second later, she opened them just in time to see a girl, right in front of her. She just about managed to stop, bumping into her as gently as she could, but the poor girl went down as though she'd been hit with a sledgehammer.
"Oh! I am so sorry - are you alright? Did I hurt you?" Beth gasped, crouching down beside the girl. She looked a bit pale and unwell - well, Beth could sure relate to that! Bethanie's face was pink from embarrassment as she waited for a reply.

Cara's cheeks reddened as she stood up. "I'm f-fine." she stammered, the world seemed to be on a record player, spinning endlessly. She grabbed for the tall and sturdy bookcase, and leaned against it. She squeezed her eyes shut, and realized that she couldn't possibly read a book, the words would most likely blur together in big blobs of black ink. "Are you ok?" She said, mustering up a semi-normal voice, but despite her trying her voice still came out shaky. Her vision cleared and she could now see the girl. She looked familiar, she thought, maybe they shared a class. Cara gently placed the red book in the near by book drop bin. Her dry throat ached for water and she had finally felt balanced. Mustering up all the cheerfulness she could, she managed a smile at the girl. "HI, I'm Cara." her scratchy voice said.
