Flynt pranced next to me. He was excited. "Easy, boy," I cooed, patting his shoulder. I led him out of the barn quietly, trying to contain his energy. I walked through the gate less entrance of the grass arena and halted him. I tightened the girth and he reached back to bite me. "No," I demanded firmly, slapped him lightly beneath his breastplate. He turned back and let me finish. I lowered the stirrups and collected my reins, but he tried to bite me again. "Flynt, no," I slapped him again in the same spot, but this time a little harder. I stuck my foot in the small stirrup and swung onto his back easily. I briefly patted his shoulder and he stood quiet, waiting for my que.
