I lead Brave calmly into the indoor arena and close the big brown door behind me. I look stunning and perfect, as usual, in light wash pre-ripped skinny jeans, an off-the-shoulder white top with "Obsessed" on it, and tall black paddock boots. My hair is flowing, untouched except with a brush. My makeup is casual yet cute. Today, I'll do groundwork with my gelding, Brave; or a Brave New Light. This is something we do often, to gain trust and bonding. First, I unlatch Blair's lead rope and throw it aside. I lay out a big, loud blue tarp and then go to the other side of it, beckoning Brave over. After a few attempts, he finally walks over confidently to me. Next, I pick the tarp up and throw it over him. He flinches, but when he feels my hand on his shoulder blade, he calms down. Now, I take the tarp off and get on him bareback. I let him canter a bit, before slowing him and slowly but surely standing up on his back, barefoot of course. After a minute or two, I sit back down and out my boots back on. Now, I grab a big huge red ball and start bouncing it around. I bounce it on Brave's back. At first, his eyes widen and he's scared, but then he calms down at the sound of my voice. I put the ball back before walking over to a far corner of the room and watching Brave. Right away, he lopes over to me and nudges me gently with his muzzle. I giggle before going to his left side, kneeling, then walking underneath him slowly. After that, we're done. I smile genuinely at him, hugging his neck before leading him out of there. I know this is something very little of the CC students do, and I'm glad no one knows Queen B has a soft side for her gelding.
