I feel the tension between Kayla and Sierra, and my shoulders tense. I force a smile. I should really go, but I'm glad I got the chance to meet you! I pause, gather my stuff, and stand up. See you guys at practice. I give a tiny wave before turning and heading out the door.

I was really confused on why she left, but if she really did need to go, I wouldn't stop her, though it seems somewhat suspicious. I looked over at Kayla and decided to start a conversation.

I opened my mouth to protest at that, but I knew lying was doing me no good. Truthfully, it just makes everything worse. But I guess it's kind of difficult to admit that I avoided everyone for my own selfish reasons. I sighed and looked at Kayla with a sad look.
"I'm sorry Kayla, I've just been having a rough time with... Um... Many things in my life recently and....." I started, thinking on how to continue. "It's not like I enjoyed being 'gone' for so long, but I've just been mentally frustrated with everything and..... UHG!"
I banged my head on the table and sheepishly looked up at Kayla. "Sorry, I'm ranting..."
