I couldnt stop smiling as we pulled up to the stables. I opened my door and jumped out before the truck could come to a complete stop. "Cor..." My mom started to yell, "Ugh never mind." The truck had now stopped and I went to the back of the trailer to let down the ramp. "Hi pretty boy!" I called inside, walking in to get him. I undid his trailer tie and backed him out. As normal he wasn't to excited by the new environment. As long as he got a warm stall, food and attention he was the happiest horse on earth. I eaagerly led him inside while my parents carried in my other things.
23... 24... 25... aha! Here it is stall number 26. Nike walked inside beside me. He stood quietly while I took off his shipping boots and undid his halter, replacing it with a loose leather padded one. I had become paranoid with halters ever since I got him and saw the cuts from his halter being to tightand not taken off for months. I ran a hand over his body making sure he hadnt received any injuries on the way up her. I couldnt help it after how I found him the day I bought him. "You're good to go Nike." I said giving him a quick kiss on the nose. My mom ran up to me and gave me a big hug followed by Dad. Now it was time for them to go. I was upset they wouldn't be around all the time anymore but I knew I would have lots of fun. All my stuff had been dropped off at the dorm so nothing else was needed from the truck "Bye guys." I said as they turned and walked to the truck and the trailer that had 9 extra slots we didn't need. I don't know why they insisted on bringing the big trailer. Maybe they just wanted to show off or were picking up some new horses on the way back. "Home sweet home... I hope." I said looking at Nike. I knew together we could make it through but I think living around each other would make the drama here run above the average for other schools. I turnt around and almost smacked straight into another student. "sorry!" I exclaimed jumping back. I hadn't realized that nikes stall door was right behind me and when I jumped I smacked the back of my head. "Ow..." I whined quietly, using one hand to rub the back of my head while extending the other to the person in front of me. "Sorry, my name is Coraline, I'm pretty good at first impressions aren't I?"
