I slipped into Lou's stall. Her ears were pricked toward me as I took my supersoft, goat's hair body brush.
"Hi there, little one." I ran the brush over her already-shiny coat. I was doing this more for me than for her - I needed to keep my hands busy. I had already tidied my dorm room, been to the library and taken out some new books, and updated my ChatStall.
Lou snorted as my brush strayed too close to her face. Oops!
Switching my body brush to my mane comb, I swept it through her silky mane, before grabbing a plaiting band and doing a quick running braid.
I tossed all my kit back into my red Ariat grooming tote.
I gently placed the lilac and blue striped saddle pad on Lou's back, followed by my gleaming black saddle. I carefully tightened the girth, smiling as the fluffy sheepskin girth cover tickled my fingers. I popped on Lou's bridle, then took the reins over her head and lead her out to the mounting block.
I quickly fastened on my new Troxel helmet, and swung into the comfortable saddle.
"Let's go, Lou" I whispered to my beautiful mare, giving her a nudge and pointing her toward a nearby trail.

We headed into the shade of the trees, and I shivered a little - it was colder than I'd thought, and my navy, cable-knit wasn't that warm. Never mind, I thought, asking for trot. I'll soon warm up!
Under the canopy of russet leaves, I lost all track of time. Lou and I cantered across the open fields and down tracks, trotted through the shady woods, and stopped for a drink at a crystal-clear creek.
Finally, I checked the time on my phone - time to head back to the stables.

I walked to barn eager to get Red ready for my trail ride here at Canterwood Crest. I quickly got his tack box from the tack room and rested it near a pair of cross ties and grabbed his line off of the hook near his stall and I entered stall and clipped it on and patted his neck and said, "Good morning Peng You (Friend) did you sleep well?" I talked to him as I clipped him to the cross ties and put the lead line next the tack box. I closed his stall door after me and then I started grooming him a few minutes later I was already running the mane comb through his silky rusty red mane.
I started braiding him mane in a traditional Chinese braid like my hair when I heard footsteps and hoofbeats coming up towards my from outside the barn I turned my head so I could see who it was that was coming towards us. tags tag here outfit link here credits ♥ r o s e
