CASSIE CAVANAUGH
It was lunch time, and Cassie could not be any more exciting. She was going stir crazy sitting in class, and the moment the bell rang, she was grabbing her stuff and heading out the door faster than you could say 'horses'. Going to a real school like Canterwood Crest was so different to her home school upbringing. The layout of the class, having multiple studies instead of just concentrating on one, and most of all, having a group of fifteen to twenty students to share the classroom with. It was all very new to her still, even after a week or two, but she still hadn't found her desired place in school other than hanging out at the stables with Starlight.
But she didn't want to become one of those girls, just someone who hung out at the stables all day long. It was different when someone had friends, but Cassie didn't. Or at least, she wasn't feeling confident enough to ask Amelia Williams if she would like to go for a ride some time. She was awkward enough as it was, plus Starlight might embarrass her with his antics of trails. Honestly, Cassie loved her horse to death, but with his lineage and history coming from the Australian outlands, he was still having some adjustment issues from the wild to the ranch and now to her. But she knew she shouldn't be hard on her horse, old habits died hard and it wasn't his fault.
But she shouldn't be caught up in thought right now, if she day dreamed or thought too much, she might end up crashing into somebody, and that was the last thing that she wanted. Holding her books, Cassie headed out. Instead of dealing with the usual awkwardness of the cafeteria though, she decided that she might try the Slice instead. There were less tables in there and therefore, Cassie wouldn't feel quite as overwhelmed on where to sit. Or at least, she really hoped there would be an empty seat at least. Heading across campus, she glanced at her phone. Still no messages from any of her new friends, but she didn't let that bother her. They probably had their own things to worry about.
Stepping into the Slice now, Cassie could see that it was fairly packed. Sighing slightly, she wondered if she had set herself up already for another awkward lunch, but she truly hoped not. Standing in line, hazel eyes glanced around, taking in the various students who were laughing and eating. They were clearly enjoying themselves, of course, they already had friends. Maybe she should text Charlie, although if she was working on her music then she didn't want to disturb her. A sigh escaped Cassie, so much for being brave, she was even afraid to text one of the nicest girls that she knew on campus, "What would you like?"
Wow, was it really her turn in line already? Glancing back to the counter now, it clearly was, "Oh, um, two slices of cheese pizza please and a diet coke." The girl behind the counter just nodded and hurried, Cassie grabbed her money and handed it to her. After getting her change and food, Cassie once again found herself in that familiar situation. Where should she sit? Glancing around, she honestly couldn't decide, nor figure out who to ask. She really needed a guide to the students around here, such as who was popular and what were the cliques and the people she should look out for. Sighing slightly, she just ducked her head down and walked to an empty seat and sat down, once again, eating lunch by herself.
occ: Not my best =/ But it's open!
