They say love is magical.
What they don't say is that magic is only an illusion.
Damian looked out the car window as his family drove him to Canterwood. He was coming here because he had gotten too caught up with sports to concentrate on school, so his grades started slipping. Eventually, his parents decided that the best for everyone was if Damian went to boarding school for the remainder of his high school years. Not that Damian minded much, because he had been riding at his Grandpa's farm for years, so his parents bought him an Arabian stallion to take with him to Canterwood. Damian realized he had zoned out, for his dad was driving into a large circular drive-way, with an arch over the front walkway that said,
"Canterwood Crest Academy
Providing Olypian athletes and Ivy League students since 1850.
Damian looked around, seeing the rolling Connecticut hills and a immense barn in the distance. his dad stopped the truck, turning around in his seat to face Damian. "Alright Damian, are you ready for this?" Damian nodded, "Of course I am, Dad. I'm always ready." He grinned and his mom spoke. "Damian, why don't you take Magic to the stables and we'll meet you at your dorm room?" Damian nodded, opening the truck door. He swung his legs out, feeling the warmth of the sunlight on his lean, toned arms and legs. He hopped down, and shutting the door, went around to get his horse, Black Magic. He unlacthed the trailer door, and stepped in beside Magic. His black coat gleamed in the sun, and the bright blue halter and lead rope were a stark contrast against the midnight black coat. Damian led Magic out of the trailer, and immediatly felt Magic get energized. "Behave, please." Damian whispered in his ear. Magic settled, and after Damian shut the door, they set off to the stable.
When Damian and Magic arrived at the stable, Damian stopped and stared. It had gleaming hard wood stalls with gold name plates. The floor had no more than a speck of dust on it and all the horses looked like they were groomed professionally. He led Magic down the main isle, spotting a gleaming name plate the read,
Owen By: Damian Bell
Damian opened the latch, sliding the door open. He let Magic walk inside, and unclipped his lead rope. After neatly tying it to the bar handle on the door, he reached into the tack box that had been temorarily stored here. Inside was all of his tack. From saddles and bridles to bits and girths. Damian lifted it all out, and headed toward the tack room he had seen. There was an open spot on the wall near the middle that read the same as the stall door. Damian set the tack down, easily orgainzing it like everyone else's. He turned around and saw a pretty girl watching him. "Uh, hi. I'm Damian." He smiled, hoping to quickly make friends.
