- - - - - - - - - - - - - I'VE SEEN ENOUGH NOW TO KNOW THAT BEAUTIFUL THINGS DON'T ALWAYS STAY THAT WAY - - - - - - - - - - - - - "Hey, buddy." I whisper as I approach my gorgeous dappled gray gelding, Skittles. He's a crazy horse- completely wild, but I love him with all of my heart. I hug his neck, a grin spreading across my face when he bumps my back lightly with his muzzle. I put his saddle and bridle on the bright red saddle rack that was just outside of his stall. I gabbed his bright blue grooming kit, which I'd covered in stickers with the Skittles logo and catch phrase. I rubbed him down, picking his feet, very carefully combing his mane and tail, coveing him in fly spray, clearing his coat of dust, grime and mud, and then placing his lime green saddle pad and navy blue gel sack onto his back. I grabbed the heavy saddle and placed it lightly on his back. After I'd totally finished tacking up Skittles, I walked him down the spotless barn isle and to the outdoor jumping arena. It was such a nice day that I decided I should ride outside, even though the chance of Skittles spooking was much higher. Just as I was about to enter, I noticed someone else jumping a course in the outdoor arena. I looked closely to see who it was.

thanks to Page394 @ Caution 2.0 for this template. I wheeled myself along side Eagle my Paso Fino gelding as we headed towards the outdoor jumping arena and I whistled for Cricket my German Shepherd guide dog as I entered the ring Cricket came bounding towards us wagging her tail eagerly. I patted her back and attached the lead rope to Eagle's halter and I clicked my tongue for him to go into the canter he sped up effortlessly and I guided him towards the jumps i'd asked Mr. Connor to help me set up the posts were as far apart as they could go without letting the poles fall down.
I watched laughing softly as Eagle jumped each jump with Cricket leaping at his side I turned my head as I heard approaching footsteps I waved to the girl who was approaching the ring with her horse.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - I'VE SEEN ENOUGH NOW TO KNOW THAT BEAUTIFUL THINGS DON'T ALWAYS STAY THAT WAY - - - - - - - - - - - - - I smiled at the blond boy, who was watching his horse and a dog jump. I was a little confused, but I had to be nice anyway. I'd find out more later. I carefully walked Skittles into the ring, making sure the dog wouldn't spook him. "Hi there, I'm April." I say, smiling lightly.

He tensed up when the dog ran over, but when he lay down he calmed. "This is Skittles. He's a lunatic- he'll spook at anything!" I tell them, grinning.

I smiled and said, "I don't mind at all just be warned don't whistle while your horse jumping unless you want Cricket to go jumping with them" I patted Cricket's head and looked at Eagle and snapped my fingers and pointed to where Eagle was and Cricket trotted over to him and stood stock still watching me intently I smiled and said, "Cricket"Bow" Eagle "Bow" I smiled and clapped loudly as both Cricket and Eagle bowed when I asked them to. I gestured for Cricket to come and she came trotting over eagerly.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - I'VE SEEN ENOUGH NOW TO KNOW THAT BEAUTIFUL THINGS DON'T ALWAYS STAY THAT WAY - - - - - - - - - - - - - I felt Skittles tense again and he sidestepped. "It's okay, it's okay." I whispered to him softly, stroking his shoulder. He un-tensed, his eyes drooping.I led him into the center of the ring, adjusted my stirrups, tightened the girl and then swiftly mounted, making sure I hit the saddle lightly.

thanks to Page394 @ Caution 2.0 for this template. I watched her get ready to ride specially to jump I mentally kicking myself yet again for forgetting my jumping bracers and straps for my saddle. I held onto Eagle's halter and Cricket's collar so that they wouldn't try and wander off or follow her and her horse while they jumped her horse reminded me of Dylan a jumping gelding i'd looked at when I went to get Eagle.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - I'VE SEEN ENOUGH NOW TO KNOW THAT BEAUTIFUL THINGS DON'T ALWAYS STAY THAT WAY - - - - - - - - - - - - - I smiled at him, my sparkly blue eyes gazing from him to his gorgeous horse. "Constrictive criticism appreciated." I said, smiling teasingly. I gave Skittle a little squeeze to let him know I wanted him to go. Immediately, he bounced into a lively trot. I was anything but surprised- that was just like Midnight. I gave him three half halts and he slowed to a collected, steady trot, his legs leaving the ground and then hitting the sand, creating huge clouds of dust at his feet. When we reached a corner, I clicked him into a canter, making sure to keep him calm and relaxed. He jump-started, shooting into a choppy canter, but I steadied him and brought him back to a slow, balanced canter. This was why we didn't love showjumping- in cross country, we could gallop around a course, having fun but still keeping proper jump form. In showjumping, we had to have speed but not too much speed. As Skittles and I approached the first jump, a bounce cavaletti, I ha to halfhalt him as he tried to scoot forward. I counted down, "3, 2, 1" and then rose swiftly into two-point. He shot into the air, soaring over the jump and bringing his hindquarters underneath him. I watched my form, making sure my heels were down, and that my head was staring straight and nowhere else. We went through the rest of the course like, that, swiftly two-pointing and soaring gracefully over jumps. On the sixth jump, though, I accidently let Skittles rush it and he knocked over the top pole of the oxar. When we finished, I gave him a huge pat and a hug. He'd done great for his first time here!

(Will post template later I am currently in school)
I watched her ride nodding approvingly aas she kept calm and brought her horse under control each time tyhey tried to spurt fowards and go as fast as they wanted to. I watched her form nodding approvingly as she kept her form and kept Skittles under control as they went over the first jump but shrugged and called out, "Good try!" as she knocked over the top rail of the sixth jump when Skittles rushed the jump.
