I walked towards the stables leading Snow White or Snowy as I liked to call her she was my stunning white Andalusian mare. I flashed her a warm smile before I whispered, "Wǒmen zài zhèlǐ wǒ de péngyǒu (We're here my friend)" I patted her gleaming white shoulder as I started forward I knew I looked out of place in my traditional Chinese clothing but I wanted to show these people where I come from and that i'm proud to be Chinese. I ran and a hand through my hair as I entered the barn and I began to read the numbers on the stall doors as well as the names. I spotted stall number 16 which had a custom made plaque with golden lettering and golden cherry blossom trees on either side of the words.

I smiled as I read Snowy and I's names off of the plaque before I unlatched the door and let Snowy inside her new home. I unclipped her lead line and undid her halter before hugging her and sliding out of the stall quietly. I hung up her bright sky blue lead line and her bright pink halter before running my fingers over her name plaque one last time. I could hear my parents talking excitedly in chinese behind me as they hauled all of Snowy's tack and my grooming tools into the barn. I hurried forward and took a few things from my mother and father before leading them into the room labeled 'Tack Room'.

I lead them to the barn door and gave each a huge huge and kiss before waving good bye. I smiled sadly as I heard my parents voices fade and the roar of their car starting up fill the air. I heard someone clear their throat followed by a voice saying, "Excuse me? but the aisle is a walkway not a place to stand and stare at nothing" I turned to see who'd spoken quite surprised at how harsh their voice was.

I just wlked into the stable after a work out with my horse Spirit and when I walked down to stall 15. Then I look at the stall and I saw a very white horse and I walked Spirit into his stall and undid his black leather halter on the hook outside and I Said ""Excuse me?"when I saw someone in my way.

I turned to see a girl leading her horse into it's stall I nodded to the girl and said, "Sorry about that i'm Ken-You" I ran a hand over Snow White's nose as she poked her head out her stall I smiled as I got a full look at her stunning face as she stretched her head out to try and get me to try and scratch her nose more. I smiled and her and kissed her nose before scratching her nose she huffed in appreciation. I smiled as her flowing silky wavy white mane swished as she shook her head. I turned to the girl and blinked at her waiting for her to reply.

I sighed as I realized I could no longer hear my parents beat up pick up truck's roaring and sputtering engine. I ran a hand through my dark thick black hair I shook my head and ran my hand over my in an attempt to try and smooth it down. I tapped my foot on the softly at first then until I could hear the noise of my foot hitting the uneven reddish cobbled floors of the stables.

I said "It's ok". Then I felt Spirit bump my arm and I gave him a cookie and then he stretched his head out to trying to reach the other horse. I looke at the guy and heard him say his name is Ken-You. I said "Nice to meet you Ken-You and I am Kim and theis is my horse Spirit then I asked him "What is your horse's name?"

I smiled at the girl .Kim. I'd met a few people named Kim in my life but they were all from New York and not from China. I smiled at her horse and said, "It's Nice to meet you too This is my horse Snow White but I call her Snowy and it's nice to meet you too Spirit" I stuck out my hand for her horse to sniff before I carefully ran my hand over their nose and smiled they had a stunning dappled grey coat I'd always admired dapple grey's but there had been something about the perfectly white sheen of her coat and her stunning mane and the way in which she'd moved that had caught my eye.

I carefully pulled Snow White's head away from Spirit as she flattened her ears and leaned forward to bite the other horse. I smacked her nose and said, "Be Nice! you haven't gotten a good look at them!" I shook my head exasperatedly at my white mare and her horribly rude manners when it came to other horses especially mares. I was glad that neither of his neighbors were mares other wise there would be problems and i'd probably have to keep her out in field away from the other horses.

"Nice to meet you Snowy" I said when he slaped his horse's nose becuase she reached out and tryed to bit Spirit. I said to Ken-You "Would You like to hang out at the slice and they have great bread sticks and pizza".

I looked at Kim when she mentioned going to the...Slice was it? I pondered offer a tiny voice in my head kept shouting 'she's trying to ask you out on a date!' I mentally shook my head at myself I figured she barely knew me and wouldn't dare try and ask me out so quickly and I could use with a friend and I'd heard about the Slice and I eager to see if what everyone said about it was true. I smiled and said, "Sure, i'd love to I've heard great things about The Slice so far"

I ran a hand through my hair and hummed a Chinese lullaby under my breath. I felt my phone buzz and rattle as it vibrated telling me I had a new text I tried to ignore it but I ended up giving up and quickly shoving my hand into my pocket and pulling out my blue blackberry. I clicked the center button and scrolled the my texts finding a new one from my friends wishing me good luck I quickly replied and stuffed my phone back into my pocket. I smiled apologetically at kim as I put my phone away.
