Nolan BrayThere were not very many occasions in which Nolan Bray felt that he dreaded seeing his little mare, but with winter coming and the chilly air, her usual rambunctious nature sometimes turned borderline insanity. Insanity in a good way, she was far more fun to play with, but at the same time, catching her was an entirely different story. He had gotten a call from Mike, who told him just that. The phone call had made Nolan sigh a little, mostly because he had been on his way to the art lab to develop some of his photographs, but he supposed that would have to wait now since Bandit's rotation was done for the day.
His feet crunched dead leaves as he walked long the quiet pathways, everybody seemed to be staying in the warmth that their dorms provided or the Sweet Shoppe. Nolan tried not to think about how he could have been one of those people too, but he could not complain. In all her quirky nature and faults, he still dearly loved little Bandit to death. Any other horse that Nolan had the pleasure of knowing paled in such comparisons, but that was only him. Not to mention, her coloration looked like she had been created out of melted gold. The moment the idea entered him, a snort escaped Nolan, that almost sounded rather poetic in a corny sense.
"Best say with photography, Nolan," he muttered to himself as he adjusted his messenger bag, easing some of the camera weight. The stables was ahead, and for a moment he almost thought about cutting through to get to the other side. But he then faltered on the idea, a fear of running into a member of the opposite sex wasn't exactly his cup of tea. Not that Nolan ever talked much to girls (in fact, he couldn't, he believed it an impossible art), but one bump was all what it took for him to be babbling awkwardly and looking for the nearest exit. People always thought that being shy was cute, but Nolan saw no redeeming qualities whatsoever about it, after all, he was the one stuck living with it.
Wandering around the stables now, his inner thoughts were cut short though by a gleeful whinny that he recognized. Glancing over to the far paddock, Bandit was prancing around to her heart's connect. From being outside, she didn't look particularly beautiful, her coat was covered by a blanket and it shielded most of her body from the human eye. Nolan didn't mind though, anything to keep her warm. His little mare didn't catch sight of him yet, but he was certain that it wouldn't be long. Tromping through the pathways that interconnected the pastures, it looked Nolan that he might be the only human out there, and the rest were just horses, for now at least. But he knew that could change in matter of minutes.
Once he reached the pasture, he dropped his bag down by one of the postings and then grabbed her lead rope, which had been conveniently looped around the gate, probably thanks to Mike, "Bandit!" he called out, and just like that, his mare stopped quickly and glanced over. Her ears twitched and she took a deep breath before turning around quickly and trotting over to the fence. As she drew closer now, Nolan could see that something was dangling from her mouth, "Oh no," he muttered. Bandit had struck once again, and judging by the shiny object, it was probably jewelry that some pour person probably left on a post for safety while they tended to something, or it could have been snatched this morning as she was being lead out.
There were any number of possibilities, and hopefully, Nolan could just get away with passing the piece of jewelry over to Mike or Doug, or even Mr. Conners. Getting up on the fence now, he waited for her to come closer. Soon, Bandit was pressing herself up against the pasture fence, nosing the top of her human's head and taking in his scent. A small laugh escaped him, "Come here," he said, as he grabbed hold of her halter as he reached for the jewelry. Though the little mare wouldn't have it, sensing that her prize was about to be taken as well as going back into the stall, she backed up quickly now, pulling Nolan over the fence into the pasture now. The move caught him by surprise, and yelp escaped Nolan as he toppled overboard and hit the ground with a thud.
Dear god, he could only hope that nobody saw that, but out of the corner of his eye, he caught a girl. She was a little bit down a ways though, so he decided that there was no need to panic. Yet. Getting up now, Nolan brushed himself off and pulled the lead rope from the fence where it was left draping from his fall, "Bandit, get back here!" The little mare turned to face her human again, her ears were pointed forward in curiosity, or mischief, it could be either one. Nolan took a step towards her now, and a gleeful whinny escaped her and she took a step to the side. He took another few steps and Bandit quickly turned and sprinted off a good few yards before stopping and glancing back at him now. Nolan just stared before a sigh escaped him, "This is going to take all day," and now he was just hopping that the girl wouldn't catch sight of this odd show.

[style=width:400px; height:200px; background-image:url(http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q485/Bayroanness/mitt2-6-2.jpg);] words-1063 || muse-rather well || clothes- 000 || notes-foolish horses Applying one last layer of the Peachy Perry P!nk lipgloss onto my lips, I let them form a smile. The cold wasn't as bad as it had been lately, but it still chilled me to the point of long sleeve. Glancing down at my attire, I nodded once accepting the fact that I didn't really have anyone to impress at the barn, unless I decided to woo the stable hands witch I didn't do to their eh, looks. Most guys played football, or hockey and such. Silly they didn't know how great and teaching horses can bee. I bet a lot less of the guys in this world would cheat on their girlies if they rode, but most guys don't. I'm not saying that all guys don't ride, just most of the good looking ones.
Stepping into the barn I absorbed the sweet smell of the hay, and they even better smell of horses. My sister didn't get horses like me, the first time I had taken her to a barn, she just stuck up her nose and left, literally. Taking the driver with her, but I didn't mind, I had been and was standing right now right where I wanted. Flashing at smile at whoever I had just passed, I headed toward my boy's stall. King was a silly and very childish stallion. Yet, he could always pull it off in the arena, both of us had learned together. Sure it was a very rough rode due to the fact that he was bigger, stronger and much more dramatic than another horse. Talking about a silly stallion, I watched as my big bad King, reach his long glossy neck out of his stall just to push the wheel bareel over, witch was full of manure.
"You, did not." Mike mumbled at my horse, giving him a less than lovable look. "Oh my gosh King! Mike I am so sorry, here if you want I have time to help you scoop it back up." I said giving King a stink eye of my own. Throwing his hands into the air, in a giving up fashion he shook his head and turned, mumbling something about it being his job. "Sorry." I said once more then turned myself to his stall. "You are in big trouble big guy." I said sticking my lips out and wiggling my finger in the air, scolding him as much as I could. Looking into his 'bedroom eyes' I liked to call them, I sighed. "I'm not going to give you a carrot today just for that, now come on. We have got to practice for our try-out, they don't just give the Advanced Team member title to just anyone." I whispered holding his head in my arms, looking at his rather crooked stripe.
Walking out of the stall, holding King's pitch white lead I glanced around, happy to see that I was aloe with my horse. Some people thought that talking to an animal was weird, but I only saw it as therapy. You could pay a million dollars to go see one of those 'miracle working therapists', but you wouldn't ever find one better that a horse. "Guess what bud, you know that popular girl, well I ran into her at the Sweet Shoppe.." The story flew from my lips toward King, he had his head cocked to the side a bit with his ears on me, it didn't matter where his eyes were. It wasn't like his eyes were on me when we were riding anyway, why should they be on me at all times. Walking past the entrance to the pasture area of the stable, I caught a site of a boy. I thought I was alone. scowling at him I tried to figure why I hadn't seen his come in, maybe he had come earlier but wasn't thinking of that anymore. My eyes were off of him and onto his apparent horse. It was gorgeous, and my favorite color, gold. The mare seemed to have a sassy attitude as she pulled her owner off of the fence.
A bit of a giggle escaped me as I watched the guy dust himself off looking my way. I leaned onto King, he too was watching this, but his eyes stayed more on the mare while I watched the boy. He had know his mare was playing with him, she had her ears perked up and she definitely was teasing him with whatever was in her mouth. I had only caught a glimpse of a shiny object that the golden mare was holding onto. Wondering why in the world a horse would like shiny objects, I tilted my head furrowing my brow in thought. It could be like someone those animals who have such an attraction to shiny objects they just have to have it or they go mad. But horses weren't like that, of anything they had an extreme attraction to food and making an absolute mess of things. Glancing at my horse and rolled my eyes then returned them to the boy and mare. Laughing once more as she darted just as he was close enough to reach her, I pushed off of King and started walking toward the pastures.
Strutting toward them I deeply regretting taking less time on my makeup and clothing style today, I smiled a bit. King was getting a bit excited with this, he was walking much faster than me now, pulling on his halter wanting to break into a trot. Pulling back just enough to make him snap out of it, I jerked on his lead. He needed to respect me, more so than another gelding or mare needed, King had intentions of a stallion, therefore he acted like a stallion. Don't get me wrong he isn't bad, but he isn't on what I call his A Game all of the time either. Now at the fence where the boy and his horse were, I cupped my hands around my mouth, lead rope dangling off my thumb. "Your doing it wrong." I shouted and smiled wildly, patting King who was practically fighting a war with himself deciding wether not to jump the fence and do something very foolish, or do it.

Nolan BrayNolan wasn't sure as to what he should do at the moment, every time he was within reach, Bandit would sprint away and stare back at him. He knew it was a game, all horses played this game every once in a while, Bandit herself, did it quite often. And normally he wouldn't be so worried about it if it weren't for the piece of jewelry. The more it swung around in his little mare's mouth, the more he thought about how it could quite possibly break, and it looked like real gold, or at least from what he could tell. Nolan wasn't exactly a crack expert on women's jewelry or anything. At that same time, he couldn't help but to have that terrible feeling that he was being watched.
Although, if they had been, would Bandit appear far more curious in the person watching them? Her cerulean eyes never shifted away from him though, her full attention was on him. That being said, the young boy was quite certain that his little mare fancied herself human sometimes. Nolan wasn't sure on what she would entirely be like as a human, but he was certain that she could quite possibility be the death of him if that had been the case. Bandit didn't take well to his attention being strayed from something other than her for longer than five seconds, which could feed into her mischievous personality quite a bit. But his thoughts came to a rather quick and sudden halt, "You're doing it wrong!
A sudden sense of panic washed over Nolan. The girl, he had almost but nearly forgotten about her and now she was there. Or at least, he was assuming it was the same girl. He found himself rooted to the spot for a moment, uncertain of what to do. Maybe she was right, but that also meant that he would have to talk to her, and his track record was not that great with girls. He didn't know why, Nolan always seemed to freeze up a little bit. Probably had to do with the emotional wreckage that his parents left him with in the wake of their divorce, not to mention moving to one state for a few years only to have his mom ship him here. A sigh escaped Nolan, thinking about all of this wasn't going to change the fact that there was a girl watching them.
His brown eyes turned to his little mare one more time, she had finally caught sight of their new addition as well, her ears twitching as she stared. A shrill whinny left her now and she tossed her head a little and threw out a buck, charging away from the fence even farther, for once it wasn't Nolan himself. It was an odd sight indeed and he dared to glance over his shoulder now. A gulp escaped him almost instantly, she was a very cute girl, 'Stop it, don't chicken out, she just wants to help,' Nolan thought to himself now as he took a hesitant step towards her, but that wasn't the only reason why. His eyes had zoned in on the horse, who looked incredibly frisky, even with the cold weather.
After what seemed like being petrified for a rather long moment, he finally decided to walk over towards her. This wasn't like class were he could just blend into the background and pretend that he didn't exist. No, this was something a little more different and usually a predicament that Nolan tried to avoid. He was only a few feet away when he felt himself grow a little more subconscious now, because she wasn't just cute, she was beautiful and now he had no idea why she was even bothering with helping him out. Bandit must have looked like she was really having the time of her life. The girl though, wasn't the only thing now though, her horse, Nolan realized was a stallion, which had explained why his own little mare had fled so suddenly.
Well, at least he knew that she didn't want any babies any time soon, "I uhm, I am?" he managed now, trying hard to cover up his Boston accent, but he was certain that he could only do so for so long, "Is he...his he going to be alright? With her around?"

[style=width:400px; height:200px; background-image:url(http://i1160.photobucket.com/albums/q485/Bayroanness/mitt2-6-2.jpg);] words-762 || muse-rather well || clothes- 000 || notes-rambling Xd I felt myself sweat a bit, what was this? I don't sweat, well I sweat like everyone else but I felt my skin flush a bit, I felt what was this? Embarrassed? Why did I feel this way? Was it only because the boy who had been having a time with his horse of gold playing tag had paused or even hesitated to turn to me? Why would anyone do that? All of the guys I have been around before had been as valiant as the sun, but foolish in a stupid way. They had thought themselves to be higher than girls, unless they were dating some type of huge celebrity, yet at least they knew better than to date a model man. Gripping my lip, and catching my breath as he turned I noticed his high toned features. His face structure was beautiful, high cheek bones setting off his face insanely. I found myself thinking of how handsome he looked in the light glow of morning.
What was I doing? He certainly looks much to better for me, heck he probably has a gorgeous girlfriend from Paris. And all I am is a simple model from New York, nothing special about me. But he was standing only a couple of large footsteps from where I was standing, and he himself seemed a bit awkward with the situation. Watching where his eyes drifted over King, I regretting taking King with me out here. My horse was scaring away one of the best, or should I say most handsome thing that had happened to me since I had transfered. All I could do was watch as he walked over, I felt like a million eyes were on me. I felt as if one wrong move and I would shatter into a million pieces, I hadn't felt like this before, I was used to eyes one me. What made this moment so different.
Quite frustrated with the fact that I felt shy in this moment, I growled inside, stirring up all of the confidence I had in my petite body. His voice was even handsome, was that possible? I must google it as soon as I can get my hands on my phone. "King is fine, we have been to many, many shows were he has had to control himself. And I'm Chloe, if you were wondering." I responded to his slurred attempt to introduce himself. Also responding to him about my chestnut stallion, I brought my eyes to him, as If I was reminding him that he did have to control his instinct especially if the mare's owner was around. And one who looked like this.
Thinking back to his beautiful mare, I brought my eyes to her. She was starring straight at King, who was returning the stare. They seemed to be sharing some type of communication, with the movements of King's ears and the twitching of the mare's, I guess King must have been flirting. Well, if he could flirt with the golden mare while standing still. I tugged on his lead the slightest bit, hopping to bring him back to planet Earth. It worked, well kind of. His eyes turned toward me, followed my his ear but only for the slightest of moments. His posture softened the tiniest bit, showing he wasn't giving up in their silent conversation but not trying as hard. Actually, he could be doing something totally different but from my point of view, he had backed off. A bit.
Looking back at the fellow who stood a few feet in front of me, I noticed that my whole thought process on the horses had only taken a couple of moments. Maybe all of those hours of just watching King and other horses graze, and communicate with each other were paying off. Or I was getting the wrong message and I had learned nothing. Right about now, I was betting the second theory. My eyes focused back into the present as I smiled warmly at him, hopping to just heat him up a bit. I let my eyes drift over the boy, taking in every unique aspect of him. He was just tall enough to be a model, his hair was perfect at every angle, his chest was broad and his eyes, oh his eyes. My eyes stopped on his eyes yet, I felt that if he was shy that maybe me being confident would scare him away. Diverting my gaze to his cheek bone instead not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable.

Nolan BrayNolan glanced back to the stallion when the girl said that they very much had the situation out of control. He suppose she would be right, or well, she would have to be right since he was assuming that it was her horse. But he wasn't quite taken aback by her statement, it was how she introduce herself instead. Brown eyes blinked, wide eyed and startled. Had he been wondering who she was? Well, deep down, Nolan had been quite curious but he would have never offered to ask, in fact, this might be just the longest conversation with a girl that he's ever had, well, not including his mother or any other family member at least, "I..." but he found himself trailing off already, wondering if this girl was just as nervous as him.
The moment the thought had occurred to him though, it left quickly. It was silly to think that any girl could be nervous around him. He was, after all, that awkward outsider kid. There was nothing special about him other than the fact that maybe his hair had a mind of it's own. Still, she did introduce herself, this Chloe and he knew well enough that he should offer the same, even if he did feel completely out of league, "Nolan," he managed now, "My name's Nolan and uhh..." the young boy glanced over his shoulder now, back towards his own little mare, "That's Bandit."
Speaking of Bandit, he was eyeing her now. She was still lagging a good few yards away from them as she stared. Her ears were twitching, only pointing forward when her owner glanced back. Bandit looked annoyed by the turn of events, but he couldn't decide if it was because of the stallion or the fact that Nolan himself wasn't paying much attention to her any more. Her own cerulean eyes returned to King now, and finally, Nolan decided it was safe enough to return his own gaze to the girl. Yet now, he couldn't help but to feel like he was under some sort of inspection.
His eyes glanced at her for a little longer, specifically falling on her fullish lips. Automatically though, he felt silly. There was no way that he could end up with a girl like this, he wasn't even totally sure as to why they were talking in the first place right now, "So um...you're new, right?" Was that even the right sort of question to ask? It translated into 'i've never seen you around before' and Nolan tried desperately to not sigh. He felt rather silly, and wasn't sure on what to do now. From behind him though, he could hear approaching hoof beats now of a trot gait, and sure enough, Bandit was coming over.
A snort escaped her as she stood behind him now, lifting her head up high and bringing her muzzle down into his hair, snorting and blowing loudly as she nuzzled and then shoved his shoulder a little. Nolan side stepped to the blow, but he was used to it by now as she nudged his arm and he lifted it and grabbed her neck, pulling her head into into his torso. Nolan felt himself smile a little now, "Guess I just need to ignore you to catch you," he muttered to her now, stroking her cheek softly before glancing back to Chloe now and smiled a little, "Sorry, she thinks she's my girlfriend. Not a fan of the attention being any where other than her...I'm sure he's like that too..." Dear god, a whole sentence, maybe he was getting the hang of this.
